Rex SimmonsLead Pastor
Rex was called as pastor of Sierra on November 16, 2004. He is a graduate of Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute and North Greenville University. He has been in pastoral ministry for over 18 years.
Rex and his wife Karen reside in Anderson and have three children. He is originally from Pickens, S.C. and enjoys outdoor activities. His favorite books of the Bible are First and Second Timothy.
Billy GibsonPraise & Worship Leader
Billy began serving as Minister of Music at Sierra in April of 2008. He attended Anderson College, (back when it was a college), and previously served as Minister of Music at Calvary Hill Baptist Church and Park Street Baptist Church both in Easley, S.C.
He was saved at the age of 7 and was raised in a Christian home on good Ole Southern Gospel music but has taken a liking to more contemporary music as well!
Billy enjoys spending time with his girlfriend, Joy, and manages to serve the citizens of Anderson as County Fire Chief.
Vanessa ReynoldsMinistry Assistant

Vanessa is originally from Western Kentucky. In 1983, she moved to Titusville, Florida where she later met her husband, Jim. They were married October 21, 1989. Vanessa was in the banking industry for over 15 years and for 5 years prior to moving to Anderson in 2005, she worked for Travelynx/Christians In Action, a family bus ministry and charter company.
Vanessa and Jim became part of the Sierra Church family in 2007. She enjoys volunteering in the church office and recently joined the staff as part time Ministry Assistant. She also enjoys crafts, traveling, outdoor activities and spending time with their “very spoiled” miniature dachshund, Tanner.

Archie has been on staff at Sierra since September 2010. He is a graduate of North Greenville and Furman Universities. He also graduated from Southwestern Theological Seminary and has been involved in pastoral ministry for over 23 years.
Archie and his wife Coralie were married on May 9, 1975. They have two sons, Andrew and Michael and three granddaughters. Archie enjoys reading, playing golf and fishing.
Vickie McAlisterMinistry Assistant

Vickie is from Anderson, S.C. and a charter member of Sierra Baptist Church. She has served as Ministry Assistant from 2000 - August 2010 and presently serves as Executive Administrative Assistant. Vickie is also church pianist and plays keyboard for the Praise Team.
Vickie and her husband, Steve, were married June 22, 1974 and reside in Pendleton, S.C. on their family farm. Prior to joining the Sierra staff, Vickie was a “stay at home” mom, raising their three children and working on the farm. She later served as Ministry Assistant for two other churches.
She enjoys spending time with her family, long walks on the farm, crossword puzzles and playing the piano. Vickie and Steve are the proud grandparents of Will, Emilee, Morgan, Harbin and Ella Claire.
